Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who came forward and were willing to help low income people file their taxes! The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is grateful for all your help!
This tax year the United Way of Mesa is coordinating the Mesa EITC Collaboration, a group of organizations who come together every year to help the needy in preparing their taxes. We help them receive the maximum legal refund possible from both the state and federal governments. This includes the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC) as well as other tax incentives available under the present tax regulations. We also help them assess their qualifications for other financial assistance and put them in contact with the appropriate services.
Last year over $1,400,000 were returned to Mesa residents as a direct result of this group's efforts.
