The Mesa Arts Center LIVES UNITED through its own family theater company, Stageworks, which provides a year-round schedule of theatrical productions including special workshops for at-risk students, extensive community outreach performances, and summer arts classes.

About the Mesa Arts Center

The Mesa Arts Center (MAC) is the largest arts center in the state of Arizona and the only center offering comprehensive professional performing arts, visual arts, and arts education programming on one state-of-the-art campus.

Since opening in the fall of 2005, the (97.9 million arts center has delighted audiences from around the world, as well as its local community.  The MAC, located at Center and Main streets, is fast becoming a downtown landmark and destination.  It serves as the anchor of the City of Mesa's arts and cultural district, and is a proven economic development engine for downtown Mesa.

Comprised of three buildings, the gorgeous contemporary-design complex in downtown Mesa covers 212,755 square feet over a 7-acre campus that includes:

  • A four-theater complex with 2,437 seats.
  • A five-gallery contemporary arts exhibition space totaling 5,500 square feet.
  • Fourteen visual and performing arts studios and classrooms.
  • An outdoor garden with a sunken courtyard for private gatherings featuring performing and visual arts and art education.

Throughout the year, you will find Broadway style shows, music, and dance performances and family entertainment.  Art exhibits display such elements as sculpture, painting, jewelry, and ceramics.  Classes and workshops, operate in conjunction with Mesa Community College, including glassworks, beading, painting, photography, and theater techniques.
