Industry-specific training offers a practical approach to education by equipping students with the tools and skills to locate and augment satisfying careers and vocations in Arizona and beyond. One of the best known is Arizona State University's Polytechnic Campus, an avid supporter to Mesa United Way, is located on the former Williams Air Force Base (now refered to as Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport).  Since its opening a decade ago, the school has grown to include 40 degree programs, with around 7,000 students enrolled on a 700-acre campus.

Student projects and internships are derived from collaborative relationships between ASU Polytechnic and industries. Boeing, Mesa Airlines, Mesa Pilot Development, Intel, the Air Force Research Lab, General Motors, and Mesa Public School District are a few of the organizations with which ASU Polytechnic maintains a relationship.

Mesa Community College, another avid supporter to Mesa United Way, offers Associates Degrees and Certificates of Completion for diverse areas of interest: Fashion Design, Biotechnology, Fire Science, and Nursing to name a few.
