Like many other people who support Mesa United Way and visit this site, you want to help people in need. You want to help at-risk kids get access to quality after-school recreational and guidance programs. You want to help families that suddenly are homeless due to fire, flood or foreclosure. You want to help homebound elderly people get nutritious home-delivered meals. And much more. But what do these services really cost to deliver? How far does $50 go? $100? $500?
Well, now you can find out. And you can donate accordingly, right on the spot. We call it The Giving Place, our new online donation center. It's a one-stop online site where you can see what your donated dollars can purchase, and then make your donation. A variety of services that are supported by Mesa United Way are featured on the site, along with how much it costs to deliver each unit of service. For example, $17 to provide enough unprepared food products to feed a family of four for one week, or $80 to provide a month's worth of support services for an Alzheimer's sufferer and his or her caregiver. The services depicted at The Giving Place are examples of those that your donation to our Mesa Unites Fund helps support.
The Giving Place is also where you can make donations under Arizona's Charitable and Foster Care Tax Credits. You can also go to the Designations section and donate to Helen's Hope Chest, or to our 12 Books program, or to another 501(c)(3) charity of your choice. Or simply make a donation in any amount to the Mesa Unites Fund, which supports dozens of programs that fight hunger and homelessness and improve lives.
