Veterans who have served our country need and deserve the best services we can provide to reenter productive civilian life. Sometimes that carries special challenges, especially if the veteran has been in combat. Mesa United Way’s Bridge to Employment program can help. It includes a Soft Skills Training Course to improve work-related soft skills and increase employability. The class also includes assistance on resumes as well as referrals to free services for those with no resume. Veterans will connect with a service that provides work attire, free of charge, to those who need it. Additionally, Mesa United Way will assist participants seeking employment by connecting them with potential Mesa/East Valley employers. The goal is to place veterans in jobs paying at least $15 an hour.
