Building a stronger community begins with building your trust

Mesa United Way is determined to build a stronger community by coordinating the resources of individuals, businesses, schools, government, non-profit agencies and faith-based organizations to assist those in need. But we know that in order to succeed we must build and maintain the trust of the community we serve. That includes you.

It begins with a Board of Directors composed of men and women of high integrity representing all facets of our community.

Gary FlemingIt includes a rigorous and regular audit process that scrutinizes every aspect of Mesa United Way’s finances - and making the audit results public. (Click on Our Financials at left to see the latest audit.)

Gary Fleming, CPA, and partner in the accounting firm of Henry & Horne, LLP, is Chairman of the Mesa United Way Audit Committee.

It includes a pledge that every dollar you donate to the Mesa United Way’s Community Chest goes to help deserving people in need in our community. That pledge is made possible by our Corporate Champions who underwrite our administrative expenses.

And finally, it involves a rigorous process in which prospective partner agencies that provide services to people in need throughout our community are screened before being funded, and then audited to ensure they are meeting or exceeding results expectations. (Click on the Results button above for specifics on each of our Partner Agencies.)

Discover the heart of Mesa

Roc ArnettThose who live, work, play, learn, and grow in Mesa know why our city is so special. It is the blue skies, thriving economy, university life, arts, culture, and the Major League Baseball spring training camp for starters. Mesa's outstanding schools, abundance of jobs and great housing options also make our city special.  Then there is the fact that no matter where you go in Mesa, you are never far from breathtaking views and spectacular parks.

"When you live in Mesa, you feel connected to other people ," says Roc Arnett, a longtime Mesa resident, president of the East Valley Partnership, and Board Member of Mesa United Way. "Mesa residents have long shared a vision of making this a great place to live. It is something we are passionate about."

With such advantages, it is no wonder Mesa has been one of the nation's fastest growing cities.
