We all know that reading is fundamental to success in school and in life, yet many young children in our own community have few or no books at home. Mesa United Way’s 12 Books program is beginning to change that, but we need your help. Last spring, thanks to an outpouring of community support, we were able to provide children in kindergarten through 3rd grades over 15,000 books! Each year we continue to expand where the need is. Our ultimate goal is making access to books a reality for all children without books!
There are several ways you can help:
Donate. Whether you donate $3 to buy one book or $600 to provide an entire classroom with books, your contribution is appreciated and will make a difference.
You can purchase books through our Amazon.com’s 12 Books Wish List.
Ways to volunteer:
1) Hold a book drive to collect new and gently used books
2) Sign up for a service event to clean and sort donated books
